601 Sportsman and Semi-enclosed

The 601 comes in two models. The semi-enclosed and the sportsman. Bith models include full length double bunk in the forward cabin making it a great sportfishing boat or a capable weekender for two.

The renderings show the 601 sportsman without the hard top and the 601 semi-enclosed with the semi-enclosed hard top.

Hi Jim
Took the 601 out for her maiden voyage the other day. Such an awesome boat with super smooth handling. While launching we were yarning to an retired couple by the boat ramp in their campervan, he reckoned it was a bit cold for skinny dipping! but that boat looks pretty good for a homebuilt! I said not bad for being built by a farmer but I'm hoping she handles even better than she looks! We had an awesome play on the lake and wife and kids were very comfortable on a rainy/windy spring day with the luxuries of a cabin and hard top. When we came back to the ramp our campervan couple were there to greet us, he said ' gee thats amazing! Your boat sits beautifully on the water! We watch heaps of boats launch here and when they take off they're all over the show! Nose in the air, or leaning to the side, but your boat was smooth as! No angle change just took off like a dream!' I said thanks and that diyno boats are renowned for the handling so the proof is in the pudding!!


Thanks heaps Jim for an awesome kitset and superb designed hull! It's always been a dream of mine to build a boat so is a surreal feeling to have her on the water! And have learnt so many new skills along the way!Looking forward to all the great family boating adventures to come!

​Had a great day on Sunday! Got some Gernard and scallops and a crayfish, kids had a good sleep in the cabin when tired and boat went great! Loving it! Handles chop and swell awesome! Looking forward to taking it on some bigger trips, handles so nice I wanted to just keep on going!!

Modified 601

Under construction is a modified 601 which will feature side consoles and a marinised 1KZ Toyota diesel engine coupled to a sternleg. As shown the boat features a walk-through to a casting deck forward. It will carry 90 litres of fuel.
