Design services for custom boats
DIYNO Kitset Boats are professional boat designers and as such we also offer design services for custom boats.
The boats shown below are examples of custom designs/kits for customers. |
10 metre alloy with alloy jig/trailer
I am just finishing up the cut files for this 10 metre alloy kitset boat for DIYNO Kitset Boats. A custom design for their customer, she is running an IVECO 400Hp engine coupled to a Konrad sternleg. The owner wanted a cruising speed of 18-20 knots. A challenging design as the cruising speed is the the full planing speed of the hull, but after a lot of work I am very pleased with the outcome. Top speed will be 32 knots.
The boat has minimal accommodations and will primarily be used as a day fishing boat with occasional overnighting. She will have a small Head/shower compartment, small galley and 4 berths. The owner wanted to build the boat on one of my alloy jigs that becomes the trailer. This will be the biggest trailer to date. All up weight of boat and trailer is 5 tonnes. |
851 Jet Custom
Alex Caird at Caird Marine in Te Anau is nearly finished the hotworks for this custom 8.5 metre jet with alloy Jig/trialer. Designed for family and work use around the Sout West coast of New Zealand and the sounds they have to offer. Conditions can be rough so great seakeeping was a priority but had to be legally towable as well on NZ roads. The boat is running a Nanni T6 engine and a Hamilton Jet unit. She features a longer cabin top for more accommodation in the colder southern climate.
Video of the boat on her maiden voyage can be seen hers. She is doing 20 knots in this video but top speed was 36 knots. Trim is perfect and so her handling is superb. https://rumble.com/v1zgftq-custom-diyno-851-jet.html |
DIYNO 821 Jet
This 8.2 metre alloy jet boat was designed for crossing shallow bars in South Westland and is used for fishing and diving excursions in that area.
The professional skipper who was hired for commissioning described it as the best boat he has ever been on. The owners will leave the helm and let the boat drive itself which dispells the myth that jet boats don't make good sea boats! Forward raking screens stop all the glare at the helm when driving directly into the sun. The huge cockpit with massive work station over engine box, and the side lockers big enough to take the dive bottles While this is a private pleasure boat it is easy to see how it could be used for serious commercial work. DIYNO Kitset boats ha had an enquiry for a 15 metre version of this boat and we have also done a preliminary design for a 6.5 metre version. |

DIYNO 361 WB Jet
This 3.6 metre jet boat is designed as a hunting and fishing boat capable of going past previously unpassable stretches of water, running a shallow draft, but with safe and secure handling.
This boat is light enough to be man-handled and manouvered by one man, making the boat very versatile. Built of 4mm and 3mm alloy with a central hull thickening (if required), with good structure, makes for a very light and strong boat, with superb handling and performance. The 361 Jet (shown) , runs a 750 Kawasaki engine and pump for a top speed of 35 knots.
