Rêvo Boxta 45
Rêvo Boxta 45.
4-5 seat Non Reinforced Plastic (NRP) jet boat.
The big strong silent type.
Commissioned by an owner of the smaller Boxta who said "the boat is so good I don't want to boat in anything else now". But he did want to be able to take family and friends aboard so commissioned the Boxta 45.
Here is what he said about it:-
The boat is so smooth and quiet and handles rough water so gently without banging.
Performance and handling are superb. So responsive.
She planes so quickly and at such a low speed. Coming down river is very safe. You have so much control.
She just goes where you point her. Handling is superb.
Can't believe how easy it was to get the boat back to water. And when we got it there it required so little water get planing. About one third of other boats this size.
It is one tough boat. We ran it 40 metres high and dry. No damage at all.
The boat is so easy to work on for maintenance. The full engine bay and cover is brilliant.
I couldn't be any happier. She is perfect.
Fully fabricated Polyethylene hull professionally designed/engineered and professionally built using new technology for an even better stronger boat more accurate hull shape.
Chevy L86 alloy V8
Scott 852 water jet.
This unit is fitted with a trim nozzle but the owner does not use it. He does not need to alter the trim at any speed. It is all set by the superior design which increases efficiency and improves handling making the boat faster and safer. No chine walking at speed in this boat!
125 Km/Hr top speed.

24 metre Superyacht - 'Amnesia'
Jim Pauling's biggst design commission to date.
Jim Pauling Yacht Design was responsible for Naval Architecture for this vessel. I had the pleasure of going aboard and meeting the owner, whilst on a trip to Thailand recently where the boat was built. An amazing man and an amazing vessel. An extremely well thought out/laid out boat. Styling done by her owner.
Some preliminary sketches of a development of this hull set up for jet drive and a tripple deck superstructure layout.
She features 6 double cabins including a huge master cabin plus a movie lounge are. A practical superyacht with good access for all maintenance and sensible operation. She is a boaters boat with plenty of room, great performance and an affordable price tag.
Rêvo 601 Superfly
The Rêvo 601 Superfly is a six metre welded polyethylene longboat.
This is the first welded polyethylene boat in survey in New Zealand and while it has been a testing process the results have been well worth it.
Purpose designed for salt water fly fishing charters, the boat is a development of our original polyethylene longboat hull form. The boat is capable of operating at any speed up to its maximum of 30 knots with a 60 horsepower motor.
We also offer this hull with jet drive and a 40 horsepower tiller steer outboard option.
This 16 metre Barge was built by Stephen Sneddon at Weld NZ.
It was amazing how they turned this project around in the timeframe available as the digger and barge had to be on the ship by a set date as ships apparently do not deliver to Pitcairn Island frequently.
My contibution included submitting drawings for survey, structural calculations including the design of the bow ramp and hinge detail, lifting points for lifting the barge over the side of the ship at sea, stability calculations and providing cut files for the manufacture of the design. The barge was specifically designed to take the 24 tonne digger ashore at Pitcain Island as shown in the pictures. All the design work and structural calcs plus stability calcs were based around this event. Barges are not my usual line of work but seeing the results of this project are very satisfying and I did enjoy the project and would happily do it again.
Rêvo 651 Sportfly
JPYD designed, Rêvolution Yachts built, Rêvo 651 Sportfly, NRP sport/fly fishing boat for an Auckland customer who fished aboard the 601 Superfly and loved the boat but wanted something slightly bigger for fishing and diving as far afield as Great Barrier. The boat was custom designed and built for his needs, including beach launching and able to be handled by one man. Set up for salt water fly fishing with two casting decks and a massive double skinned built-in fish bin, but also to be used for general sport fishing and diving.
Once again a very efficient and well mannered boat able to operate at any speed.
6.5 metres long with 90 horsepower motor - 31 knots.
The pictures and video show just how smooth and responsive the hull is. Virtually no transition from non-planing to planing mode makes the boat very responsive and able to operate at any speed. The most fuel efficient speed is 13 knots giving a 106 nautical mile range or 96 nautical miles at 18 knots.
Comments from the owner:-
She is just so responsive.
She is pretty much planing at any speed.
It is so quiet and smooth.
Comments from others who have been aboard:-
The ride is unreal. I have never been on a boat like it.
You will be impressed with this, it is so smooth and responsive.
Rêvo 821 Beachcraft Jet
Designed for fishing and diving along the South Island's West Coast and regularly operates in rough seas across a notorious bar.
The owner can set the boat in the direction he wants and leave the helm.
Described by a professional skipper who conducted sea trials on the boat as the best boat he has ever been on.

Rêvo Beachcraft 601 Pontoon
The Rêvo 601 Beachcraft is a 6 metre aluminium alloy pontoon boat with surf launching trailer. The boat has been built in 3 configurations. Cuddy, centre console and semi-enclosed with forward raking screens. The boats have 1 man surf launching trailers which float with the boat out through the surf. They then anchor the trailer and release the boat. When they return they drive the boat onto the trailer, tie it off and motor the boat and trailer in through the surf. Superb surf launching and retrieval system. The boats themselves are almost unrecognisable as pontoon boats and yet have 500% reserve buoyancy that does not reduce interior space at all. Most importantly the hulls are soft riding as can be seen in the attached video.

Rêvo WASP 442 and Rêvo WASP 742 Powercat
Revolutionary new hull form makes for a simply superior boat.
The hull is a new unique design in which we have all the benefits of a cat but in the same beam as a monohull. This gives about 14% more useable volume and floor space for the same length and beam.
The hull rides on a combination of clean and aerated water making it very fuel efficient and soft riding.
More efficient than an equivalent sized monohull, more stable, dryer and softer riding. We can point the boat in any direction in rough seas and leave the wheel. The boat is very very safe!
We see great potential for these boats as work boats, ferries, rescue boats, tenders for superyachts, and superb as pleasure boats providing excellent accommodation and safe handling.
Twin engines widely spaced offer unparalleled piece of mind, safety and control. The boat can be run at low speed without excessive trim angles giveing her a very wide band of operational speed.
We recently launched the Rêvo WASP 742, which is the 7.4 metre version, for a Sydney customer.
It is built of fabricated polyethylene.
The boat floated with 270 mm draft exceeding the design requirement of 300 mm and runs at 34 knots also exceeding the performance requirement of 32 knots.
The walk through forward cockpit is a superb feature and performance and handling are excellent.
Very smooth and quiet and will fully plane at 12.5 knots at a mere 2600 RPM.
Described by a professional skipper aboard at the launching as the best cat he has ever been on by a long way. He said he would like to order a 20 metre version of it he was so impressed.

Colken 451 alloy pontoon
Originally designed for a dealership in Auckland, the boat incorporates all the features his customers told him they wanted in a boat. I designed the boat but the GFC put paid to the build. Martian Marine took on the building of the boats before Colken Engineering bought the building rights for this model.
The pontoons are unique in that they do not encroach on the interior space and yet maintain a reserve buoyancy of 500%. There is a toe-kick on a flat sole making standing in the cockpit very comfortable while fishing leaning against the cockpit sides. Interior space is huge and the boat is very stable. The ride is typical of all JPYD designs. Customers use these boat up to 26 kilometres offshore on the East coast of the South Island.
You can see from the pictures the beautiful job Colken Engineering has done. There are 3 models, open tiller steer, centre console and this cuddy model. Recommended power is 40 to 60 horsepower or can be run as a jet drive as well. For information contact Colken Engineering.
