This is my ultimate jet boat. After many jet boat excursions up some of New Zealand's fine rivers, I have some strong views on what makes the ultimate jet boat.
I have spent a lot of time to come up with a hull that not only runs in shallow water, but can start in shallow water. Once you have hit the bottom, you have to get the boat going again. It can be hard work dragging a boat back to 800mm of deep water just to get started again.
I have optimised the trim angles for shallow water starts and easy transition from displacement mode to planing mode. The hull will be fully planing at just 7 knots without excessive trim, allowing rapids to be entered at reduced speeds while maintaining full control. Maximum depth of water required to get fully onto the plane is a mere 330mm.
The engine is fully enclosed and insulated with a venturi exhaust, making the boat very quiet. For this reason I have named the boat Jaguar.

Revo 981 is a 9.8m planing powerboat.
Accommodation consists of one double cabin forward and two single cabins port and starboard. One is accessed from forward of the helm seat with the bed running aft below the galley. The other accessed from aft of the saloon seating with the bed running forward below the saloon seat.

A great family launch with indoor/outdoor living, excellent performance and affordability. It features easy access to the foredeck via the aft boarding platform with the stepped down sheer.

She can be built in timber or composite.

  • BOA 3.28m
  • Displacement 4900kg
  • Power single 300hp
  • Drive jet or sternleg
  • Max speed 30knots

This 11m-hardtop cruiser has been designed as a New Zealand style of "picnic boat". Accommodations are set up more for weekending with occasional longer holidays aboard. The indoor/outdoor flow is unrestricted, with the living area/cockpit on a single level, and the back bulkhead opening almost completely across the boat. There is roof overhang in the cockpit to provide protection from the elements, and to provide proper dinghy storage out of the way. A canopy will enclose this area and provide a large living area in adverse conditions. The galley is large and situated up on the same level as the saloon. The toilet is separated from the shower. The double cabin bed enables both partners to get in or out of the bed without disturbing one another.

Styling is classic with teak decks and timber trims.

We also have a sport fishing version using the same hull.

Construction is timber/composite or full composite.

  • LOD 11.0m
  • Beam 3.74m
  • Displacement 6500kg
  • Engine 300-660hp
  • Drive Hamilton water jet

Careful consideration has been given to the accommodation of this boat to maximise the experience for all who go aboard. She is a development of the mid-pilothouse planing launch style developed and perfected by Owen Wooley. We have eliminated the step down between the cockpit and the interior aft and have opened up the back bulkhead making for better indoor/outdoor flow. The galley and dining area is located in this area, level with the cockpit.
Sleeping accommodation is in three double cabins forward, with the formal lounge in between.

The interior staircase takes you up to the pilothouse where the single helm station is located. The upper aft deck is level with the pilothouse sole , and the back bulkhead opens right across the boat to once again promote the easy indoor/outdoor flow. Guest can lounge around or dine up here with a good view overlooking the cockpit.

A coaming door either side allows the skipper or crew to easily move from the pilothouse down into the cockpit or forward to the foredeck area quickly to secure mooring lines.

We are extremely proud to have been able to assist Dave Grayson of Graceline with design work on this absolutely remarkable boat. We constructed a computer model of Daves design to check hydrostatics and assisted with the rudder design.

This is craftsmanship at its very best and has to be seen to be believed. We strongly recommend you view the full photo gallery on the Graceline web-site:

Under construction at Marine Magicians in Auckland is this 56 foot high speed motor yacht. Initially for private use in Auckland but ultimately destined for high speed diving and sport fishing charters in the Fiji Islands.

Driven by 2 modified Detroit 6V92 coupled to Sea Fury surface drives, top speed is expected to be 42 knots.

  • LOD 17.11m
  • BOA 3.74m

This 75 foot motoryacht was built in Thailand. We were asked by the owner to go to Thailand to oversee the build of the boat, but unfortunately commitments at home prevented us doing so.

Therefore our input was limited to reviewing the hull lines, originally designed by the owner. We worked within the owners original design and helped him to develop the final hull design.

We congratulate the owner on an incredible outcome, managing to build while also tending to his business interests.

Sea trials returned 27.6 knots at 54 tonnes with 1,100 horespower engines.
