The idea was to make a powercat that was simple and affordable.

Construction is of ply/glass with epoxy resins. We comprised a small amount of motoring efficiency to gain building cost efficiency. By reducing the length to beam ratio of the hulls, we are able to utilise them for accommodation. This reduces the size and complexity of the superstructure and enable us to to build the boat in a modular format using flexible connections. There are no twisting loads placed on the superstructure making it light and simple to build.

The boat is beachable enabling it to be used as a waterfront bach!

Power is 2x150hp engines through Hamilton water jets giving an expected top speed of 19.5 knots.

  • Loa 12.67m
  • Beam overall 7.12m
  • Displacement 9300kg

10.5m Displacement Powercat

Designed to be comfortable, capable and affordable pleasure boat for an Auckland client with a requirement to fit into their existing 10.5m marina berth.

Power is twin or single outboards from 120 to 240 horsepower combined, giving speeds up to 28 knots.

Accomodation is in 3 private cabins and features seperate shower and toilet compartments. The boat can be built in timber or composite construction.

Effiecent seakindly hulls and good bridgedeck clearance makes for a very capable boat.
